Engagement on Lake Washington

I want to pat myself on the back for bringing my wife along to prepare for an engagement shoot. A friend contacted me about capturing a very special moment in his life. He wanted me to photograph him popping the big question to his girlfriend, Krista. Tyler, the dashing man featured in the images below, coordinated all the details and carried out the proposal flawlessly.

With the assistance of my wife Ellie, we arranged the scene by having her act as a stand-in for the couple who will soon be engaged. The primary challenge was ensuring that the horizon line was perfectly positioned above their heads.

Ellie came up with the brilliant plan of using a flower head to signal Tyler to stop.

Tyler veiled his secret from Krista with the timing of her birthday. Pretty solid week, had a birthday and got engaged.
